Blocks Area
Easy Guide to the Block Categories
Now that you know how blocks work, let's explore the different sections of the Clu-Blocks Pro Blocks Area.
The Blocks Area is organized into categories, and each category can be thought of as a toolbox designed for a specific programming task.
Just as a real toolbox contains different tools for different jobs, each Clu-Blocks Pro category contains blocks that help you perform a particular type of operation.

Figure. Block categories available in the Clu-Blocks Pro Blocks Area.
For example, some categories provide blocks for reading sensors, while others allow you to control outputs, make decisions, perform calculations, display information, communicate with other devices, or store information in variables.
| Toolbox | What You Can Do |
|---|---|
| Inputs & Outputs / Pins | Read inputs and control the D1 R32 pins. |
| Serial Port | Exchange information between the D1 R32 and the computer. |
| Control | Control how and when instructions are executed. |
| Logic | Make decisions by evaluating conditions. |
| Math | Perform calculations and work with numbers. |
| Servos & Buzzer | Control servo motors and buzzers. |
| Sensors | Collect information from connected sensors. |
| LCD Screen | Display information on LCD screens. |
| OLED Screen | Display text and graphics on OLED screens. |
| Text | Create and work with text values. |
| Communications | Access tools for communication between devices. |
| Bluetooth | Exchange information using Bluetooth communication. |
| Infrared (IR) | Work with infrared transmitters and receivers. |
| ESP-NOW | Exchange information directly between compatible ESP32-based devices. |
| Network | Work with network-related functions. |
| HTTP | Work with HTTP-related operations. |
| Variables | Store information so it can be used or changed by the program. |
| Functions | Organize reusable sections of a program. |
Think of Each Category as a Toolbox
You do not need to learn every block at once.
Instead, think about what you want your program to do, and then choose the toolbox that contains the blocks you need.
For example:
Need to read a sensor?
→ Explore the Sensors toolbox.
Need to make a decision?
→ Explore the Logic toolbox.
Need to display a value?
→ Explore the LCD Screen or OLED Screen toolbox.
Need to store a sensor reading?
→ Explore the Variables toolbox.
Need to send information to the computer?
→ Explore the Serial Port toolbox.
Need two devices to communicate?
→ Explore the appropriate Communication toolbox.
Exploring the Block Toolboxes
In the following sections, we will explore the Clu-Blocks Pro block categories one by one.
For each toolbox, you will learn:
- What the category is for.
- What its main blocks do.
- When you might use those blocks.
- How the blocks connect with other parts of your program.
You do not need to memorize every block.
